What better filling for a pumpkin spice Swiss roll than a light, airy eggnog-flavored diplomat cream? The chocolate polka-dots add a whimsical touch to this festive fall treat or holiday dessert!

What could be better than watching the bakers in the Great White Tent compete for the prize cake stand and the title of Star Baker? Hearing them burst into song (and presumably dance) while they’re at it! Well, that wish will be granted July 22 of this year, when The Great British Bake Off – The Musical will premiere at Everyman Theatre in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire.
The musical comedy will follow eight amateur bakers, each with a unique story to tell, as they test their baking skills in an attempt to wow two “iconic” judges, all under the watchful eye (and most likely sharp wit) of two presenters. Sound familiar? That’s not surprising, since the show is being developed in association with Love Productions, the company that produces “The Great British Bake Off,” and Richard McKerrow, the TV show’s executive producer. The stage production will feature an original score and 18 songs written by award-winning duo Jake Brunger and Pippa Cleary.
Though the cast has yet to be announced, the theatre’s website describes the show as filled with “heart-warming characters, ounces of laughter and mouth watering music,” which, true to form, will be “suitable for the whole family.”
Can’t wait!
I’m a home baker who loves watching The Great British Baking Show. I decided to embark on my own Great British Baking Challenge by baking through the Bake Off! I hope you will join me, or at least read along, as I attempt every challenge the contestants on the show are given. On your mark, get set…BAKE!
